ONE INITIATIVE AND A HANDFUL OF PASSION
Do you desire to support a non-profit in your community, help the environment, and celebrate your member’s individual talents to promote creativity? Hold a communal garage sale at your local community center!
This isn’t a typical garage sale, it’s also an opportunity to have your members sell their personal works such as paintings, pottery, sewed items, or anything they enjoy making in their pastimes that is suitable to sell to your community.
Further, gather and sell antiques, well-conditioned clothes, furniture, or books that would otherwise be tossed to prevent excess waste in landfills. Follow these steps below to complete this campaign and receive service credit.
STEPS
1. Choose your target non-profit and send its link to a Let’s Dream Department of Operations Officer on Discord for approval. Make sure it’s one your members want to support as well! 2. Create an organized digital list or sign-up genius of what each member will be contributing to the garage sale. Remember to make it clear that members with creative abilities in the field of artisan can use this opportunity to sell their works! 3. Have a plan of action! Send your community center or desired location a professional email requesting the approval to sell on your determined date. Feel free to link our email address in your request should they inquire for more information. 4. Make appealing garage/artesian sale yard signs and digital posts! How you market this event will determine its success, so include what you are raising money for. Should you desire, you may also sell baked goods or refreshments and include this information on the signs/posts. Everyone loves a cold lemonade on a hot day, why not drink one while shopping at your communal garage sale? 5. Sell your goods! Play music, initiate conversations and separate different items on separate tables to make it have that Farmers Market feel. Gather the money securely and let those interested in your sale know what you're raising money for. Even if they don't buy anything, they may want to support the cause. Donation buckets don’t hurt! 6. Donate your money. Whether it's digitally or physically, send us verification you completed this step and the list of what members participated so we can verify hours. 7. Take pictures! !Post them on your Instagram and tag @Lets_Dream_The_Future to be featured on our page! 8. Fill out the Volunteer Form! Get volunteer hours based on the pictures submitted.
