Justice for those who suffered sexual harassment!

The news highlights stories of victims of sexual harassment a lot more than people realize. Although statistics on sexual assault can’t even begin to convey the suffering of victims and their families, they can offer a glimpse into the disturbing extent of the issue.One of the most shocking facts about sexual assault is that approximately only 5% of sexual assault reports filed have been proven false. 82% of all juvenile sexual assault victims are female and 90% of adult rape victims are female. In just 2019, over 652,676 women were raped. Over 40% of women and 20% of men have been victims. I’m sure that this has proven to you the need for change. People are silenced but we have to strive for their justices.

STEPS

1. Organize! Get together with your group and decide how you will be completing this campaign. You can create multiple posts together or have each person complete one.

2. Create! Put the post together! Here is what it should include:

• Publicize a silenced harassment story (could be found on news) to provide justice for the person---> make sure it isn’t very well known

• Be short with it so people will want to read it, just a couple sentences are fine

• Add pictures and links to tools to help you face uncomfortable situations

3. Post! Post your creations on social media platforms and share. Use the hashtag #LetsDreamToBeHeard and popular hashtag #metoo

4. Verify hours! Each post you complete will give you 1 hour of volunteer credit! Make sure you keep track of all the ones each member is doing, either by spreadsheets, docs, etc.

5. Fill out the Volunteer Form! Get volunteer hours based on the pictures submitted.
