Posters of Positivity

Bring happiness to someone’s day!

The stresses that come with being a highschooler can be overwhelming and mentally destructive for many students. With GPA worries, AP exams, and extracurriculars, many are finding themselves burnt out and feeling depressed. In fact, almost 20% of highschool students already struggle with mental health issues. You and your club can make a difference in someone's day by spreading love around your school, and even your community. With this campaign, your club will be placing post-in notes, posters, and even a remind code for positive messages (should you desire) around your school. It’s time for everyone to feel loved and acknowledged around the school!

STEPS

1. Contact! Be sure putting posters and notes around the school is allowed prior to completing this project. We suggest sending an email.

2. Plan! Communicate with your members on what supplies will be needed to complete this project. You may create a signup genius in order to better track what will be covered. Paint, markers, posters, sticky notes, papers, etc are all supplies you will need.

3. Create! It’s time to make your posters. These can have a positive message, or something surrounding mental health. The purpose is to make someone happy, so whatever you feel will do this, go for it! We suggest messages more personal than, “be happy” or “smile more”, but it is ultimately up to y’all! You may also try to laminate the smaller notes so they will last longer around the school.

4. Take Pictures! Be sure to take pictures of your members writing on the notes or painting posters to submit when confirming hours.

6. Post! Post the sticky notes and posters in random places around your school. The more random, the better! It’s not unusual to find a poster by a bulletin board, but to see a positivity sticky note next to a water fountain or in a bathroom stall is a surprise and more fun for those reading them!

7. Involve the student body! You can also hang a pen by the posters you create to allow other members of your school to write positive messages for others! You may also leave one entirely blank and have your members write the first messages to begin the project, and see what messages are on it when you take it down!

8. Fill out the Volunteer Form! Get volunteer hours based on the pictures submitted.
