Thank You Firefighters

GIVE THANKS TO FIREFIGHTERS

Firefighters have been saving the lives of Americans since 1678. Although their techniques have changed since then, firefighters are still saving thousands of lives each year. Firefighters are heroes because they run towards danger. When there are fires and explosions, most people flee and run in the opposite direction. Firefighters, however, run towards them. When disaster strikes, firefighters are one of the first officials to reach the scene. They are courageous. They know that there’s a chance that things might not go their way. Yet, they push through and do it anyway. Firefighters are one of our greatest heroes and we should take the time to appreciate their efforts and sacrifices. One way to do that is by following this campaign! Through this campaign, you will be making cards and/or pastries and sending them to firefighters as a way to thank them for their service.

STEPS

1. Organize!

1. Are you planning on making cards or pastries or both?

2. How many cards are you making? (make them as colorful and decorative as you can!)

   1. The number of cards depends on the number of firefighters you are sending them to

3. What kind of pastries are you making and how many?

   1. Take into account how many firefighters there are

4. How will you deliver them?

   1. Contact a local fire station(s) and drop them off.

2. Reach out! Contact a local fire station(s) and tell them your initiative. Ask them if you could drop off the cards/pastries.

3. Create! Make the cards/pastries!

4. Fill out the Volunteer Form! Get volunteer hours based on the pictures submitted.
